Mistah Rapsey is my name..
staying underground
is the experience..

I’ve been traveling since my youth searching for experiences of truth. An old soul back again to discover what I left uncovered. I love to love and live to laugh. Enrolled in a school called Knowledge of Self. Paying attention is my drug. Learning to live Life like music and flow with the rhythm, careful not to miss a beat. A renaissance man, Life is my art project. An habitual nomad, I roam to evolve. Music and cannabis are my constant companions. Interested in people, i’m always searching for my tribe. The beauty of the wilderness is the closest i’ve come to experiencing Truth.

Love is an Action. Love is the Answer. Love is the Movement.

My Hip-Hop Must Haves

Best Rappers Alive Lists..

Today I have been seeing lots of ‘best rappers alive’ lists and to be honest they have all been weak, in my eyes it is straight up disrespectful and ignorant to put the likes of Nas on the same list as Drake or lil Wayne. I understand that people have personal preferences, and i can’t hate on that but if you don’t know anything about hip-hop culture then put the word ‘Favorite’ instead of ‘Best’.

Anyway here goes a proper list for the tumblr hip-hop community.

  • Black Thought
  • Nas
  • GZA/Genius
  • Rakim
  • Slick Rick
  • Andre 3000
  • KRS-One
  • Jay-Z
  • Kool G Rap
  • Talib Kweli
  • Eminem
  • Mos Def
  • Slug
  • Ice Cube
  • Immortal Technique
  • MF DOOM

This list could go on and on, because there are more amazing lyricists in the game than i have time to listen to.

Let me know what you think about the list and who am i forgetting?

BlakRoc: Ain’t Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo) Ft. Mos Def and Jim Jones

Love this song and this video.  Is it just me or do great artists like Mos Def always bring the best out of more average artists like Jim Jones?

Notorious B.I.G.- What’s Beef (March 9th Remix) f. Mos Def

I just wrote a huge thing on beef in hip-hop and then firefox crashed on me, erasing it all. FUCK! I’m gonna write it up again… but later.  Enjoy this song for now.

Stop the violence in Hip-Hop!

Mos Def- Workers Comp.

After the instant classic Auditorium with Slick Rick, this is my favorite song on the album.  Actually it’s too hard to choose because the whole album is amazing.  Ecstatic is a fucking masterpiece..

Top 10 Favorite Male Voices

  2. Curtis Mayfield
  3. Sam Cooke
  4. Van Morrison
  5. Louis Armstrong
  6. Marvin Gaye
  7. Mos Def
