Mistah Rapsey is my name..
staying underground
is the experience..

I’ve been traveling since my youth searching for experiences of truth. An old soul back again to discover what I left uncovered. I love to love and live to laugh. Enrolled in a school called Knowledge of Self. Paying attention is my drug. Learning to live Life like music and flow with the rhythm, careful not to miss a beat. A renaissance man, Life is my art project. An habitual nomad, I roam to evolve. Music and cannabis are my constant companions. Interested in people, i’m always searching for my tribe. The beauty of the wilderness is the closest i’ve come to experiencing Truth.

Love is an Action. Love is the Answer. Love is the Movement.

I have been in love with music forever and recently i have finally started producing my own.   This is a short clip from a song i have been working on which samples a soul song i like called “If You Don’t Want My Love” by Bobby WomackI think I first heard this song in one of my favourite blaxploitation films “Across 110th Street”.

Across 110th Street

Feedback on what i’ve created so far is of course appreciated, good and bad.

Notorious B.I.G. & Frank Sinatra // Everyday Struggle -A Day In The Life of a Fool

This is one of my all time blend tapes.  Two of New Yorks biggest icons together on one album.  Unlike a lot of other mash  ups or blends this one is done well, shouts to DJ Cappel & Smitty for this masterpiece.

Reef the Lost Cauze // Rhymes Like Dimes

Reef the Lost Cauze is a rapper from Philly and a member of the Army of the Pharaoh’s.  I saw this guy open for the Jedi Mind Tricks and he was by far the highlight of the night.  He is a skilled emcee and he also knows how to rock the crowd.

This is a great track i found recently of him rapping over MF DOOM’s ‘Rhymes Like Dimes’ beat.  Its funny to hear him on this beat cause his rhyme style sounds very similar to the masked villian.

The Black Keys are one of my favorite indie bands.  This is a Captain Beefheart cover they put out for free, I really love how soulful it came out.

Shouts to Mica for letting me know about this one.

Otis Redding // (Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay

If I Had A Jukebox: pt. 1

I decided that i am going to start a series where i list my favourite song’s that i would put in a jukebox if i had one! I listen to a lot of soul music, there is something about it that makes me feel so alive.  Otis Redding is one of the artists that really made me start digging into the huge and amazing soul catalog. In my opinion ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay’ has to be one of the best songs of all time. Whenever i am in a place that has a jukebox i end up playing it.
