I think this quote makes it clear what the American governments position on the Occupy movement is. 

NYPD arrest retired Philadelphia police Cpt. Ray Lewis

“All the cops are just workers for the one percent, and they don’t even realize they’re being exploited. As soon as I’m let out of jail, I’ll be right back here and they’ll have to arrest me again.”

I have a feeling this will be the first of many cops to join the people.  After all who really wants to protect their own oppressors? 

We call on all police officers to disobey illegal orders and follow the example Captain Raymond Lewis and others who stand proudly in solidarity with the 99%. “The reason I’m down here is because I’m tired of seeing suffering of so many people while you have 1 percent who is accumulating all this wealth on the backs of all the workers,” says Ray Lewis, a retired police captain from the Philadelphia Police Department. He critiques his colleagues for “basically just enforcing the laws of the dictators, which is the 1 percent. They’re having their healthcare cut, their pensions cut, and their salaries reduced. And they don’t even realize it.”

The Bat signal idea is genius.  I got such a powerful feeling of global community at the end when they started naming all the occupy movements, it must have been even more powerful in person.  If you haven’t taken part in the occupy movement yet, you don’t know what you are missing out on.  Overcome your fears and OCCUPY with love!!
